President Samuelson to address students today

President Cecil O. Samuelson and his wife, Sharon, will address BYU students, faculty and staff today at Devotional.

President Samuelson will base his talk on Doctrine and Covenants 6:18. The talk is titled ?Stand by My Servant Joseph.?

President Samuelson has been president of BYU since May 2003, when he replaced Pres. Merrill J. Bateman.

Prior to serving as president of the university, Pres. Samuelson was in the Presidency of the Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was called to serve as a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy in 1994. Prior to that, Pres. Samuelson, a physician by trade, was senior vice president of Intermountain Health Care.

Devotional begins at 11:05 a.m. in the Marriott Center, and will be broadcast on KBYU-TV, BYU-Television, KBYU-FM, BYU-Radio and byubroadcasting.org.

The proceedings will also be shown in the Joseph Smith Building auditorium and in the Varsity Theatre in the Wilkinson Student Center.
