Savages

By Kelsie Rose

It will be interesting to see how ABC''s new single father manages a household of teen boys on the new fall sitcom Complete Savages.

Single father and firefighter, Nick Savage, faces the overwhelming challenge of teaching five teen boys how to cook, clean and do their laundry.

With no two sons alike, each has his own unique aspiration. The gullible jock seeks to be the next Abercrombie & Fitch model while the middle child wants to be on Fear Factor. The youngest son is an Ebay junkie.

Complete Savages comes from Emmy-winning writers/executive producers Julie Thacker-Scully, ('The Simpsons') Mike Scully, ('The Simpsons' and 'Everybody Loves Raymond') and Academy Award-winning director and producer Mel Gibson.

'We''ve been looking for a project to do together for a while,' Thacker-Scully said on the Web site of tvzap2it.com. 'We both have large broods of children and we thought this was custom-made for us. So Mel is, like, riding our coattails.'

Cast members sounded off on having Mel Gibson as their producer.

'I imagined him as, like, a serious guy... totally into himself and all that,' said Jason Dolley, who plays the youngest member of the Savage family. 'But when I met him, he wasn''t like that at all. He was ... light, funny, he was really hilarious. He''s really a big kid.'

'We can''t say enough good things about all he''s done for the show,' Scully said on zap2it.com.

Complete Savages can be seen Fridays on ABC at 8:30/7:30c premiering September 24th.
