There are many great organizations at BYU with little publicity, and the BYU racquetball team is one of them. We practice Monday through Friday, from 6:00am to 8:00am, and attend multiple tournaments. The team recently represented BYU at the annual U.S. National Intercollegiate Championships in Fountain Valley, California. The men's team placed fifth in the nation and the women placed fourth, combining for an overall finish of third. We finished behind two schools that recruit athletes by offering scholarships, and many of those athletes play on the pro tour. This illustrates that our team is the best developmental program in the nation. The racquetball team owes its success to the coaches and to every player on the team, who pushed our top six seeds to play their best. There are national champions in our midst. Everyone showed guts and determination. In fact, the top male and female players both completed matches on a broken foot!
