Thank you...

We all agree that there is a lot of negativity bantered-about in the opinion section of The Daily Universe. I would like, therefore, to send-in some of my own positive experiences.

I make a habit of holding the door open for those who pass behind when I enter buildings on campus. Some people look at me, some nod or grunt, and occasionally I get a smile. One girl, who I unprejudicially assume was a Freshman, actually stopped and met my eyes and said a full-throated 'Thank You.' This made my day. Whoever that was, thank you. Let us all be like her.

I walk up the path just south of the SFH every day, and until a few weeks ago, noticed that the flag over the soccer field was caught in the pole next to it. Someone freed it and it now happily billows in the breeze. Whoever fixed it, thank you.

Walking through Brigham Square, I saw an exceedingly elderly man struggling up the steps to the WSC. I saw another girl walking beside me move close to him and offer her hand of support to help. Whoever that was, thank you.

It is refreshing to see these selfless acts around me. Let us all serve and be more grateful. You never know who might be watching or needing a kind gesture or word. Thank you.
