Drinking Fountains
When I was in grade school, we would all line up in front of the drinking fountain after recess and our teacher would supervise, counting 1...2...3, and then our turn was over. This may seem like a very simple concept, yet with everyone carrying their own water bottle now, people are hogging time in front of the fountain. It is becoming increasingly difficult to just pass by a drinking fountain and just get a sip of water.
One time, I arrived at a drinking fountain at the same time as another student and, being courteous, I allowed her to proceed. She then pulled out a drinking bottle and I counted all the way up to 30 before she was done. Then, after she was done filling her bottle, she pulled another bottle out of her bag and filled that one as well, another 30 seconds. I had to wait an entire minute just to get a 3 second sip of water. So if you need to fill up your water bottle and you notice someone behind you waiting for his or her three second sip, please allow them to go first.
