Although I would say that some of the recent commentary on the issue of biological background to homosexuality represents a clear division, the divergent views have a lot more to do with semantics than belief.
Some of us use the term 'homosexual' to refer to the actions. When we say homosexuality can be overcome we mean that a person who has those desires does not have to participate.
We are not saying everyone can fully become a functioning heterosexual, but we are saying they do not need to act on homoerotic feelings. We understand it is hard for them, but also know that a feeling being a challenge does not justify it.
