Elder Dallin H. Oaks said modern revelations promise that prepared members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints need not fear the second coming of Jesus Christ.
Elder Oaks urged each member to be prepared for the second coming because the signs of the second coming 'are all around us and they seem to increase in nature.' The signs of destruction and wickedness such as earthquakes, typhoons, wars and false prophets are significantly increasing in the world today, he said.
'While we are powerless on changing the time of the second coming, we can prepare ourselves for it,' Elder Oaks said. 'Brothers and sisters, this is the time for men to prepare to meet God. Are we preparing today?'
Spiritual preparation is the most important and difficult to do, he said. Many people accept the devil as an entertainer, and the good, the true and the beautiful things in this world are being replaced.
Church members need to fulfill their promises and make sure they are prepared and have their oils with them when Christ comes, Elder Oaks said, referring to the parable of the 10 virgins.
'We do not know how this game will end, or how the score is kept, but we do know that when it ends, our team will win,' he said.
