Achieving true conversion

By Erica Williams

Elder D. Todd Christofferson centered his remarks to Latter-day Saints on how an individual can become truly converted to the gospel.

He said the first step to conversion is a genuine desire.

'The gospel cannot be written in your heart unless your heart is open,' he said.

Elder Christofferson said church members must discard prideful feelings that lead to a rebellion against God.

Sincere study and prayer are also important steps, he said. However, prayer is fruitless unless accompanied by service.

Another important aspect of conversion is one''s willingness to obey.

'In reality, it is the gift of yourself, what you are and what you are becoming,' he said.
