You can't be serious?

I am appalled at the reasoning of Ms. Jennie Hyde in her letter 'Not Infringing on Rights.' According to Ms. Hyde, as long as her rights are in no way threatened by gay marriages, neither she, nor anyone else has a right to deny them a chance to pursue happiness in a formally committed relationship. How can people not see how much homosexuality threatens heterosexual marriages? Homosexuality is a sin and one that cannot be disputed. The general presidency of the church has spoken out against protecting marriage, in accordance with the scriptures.

Gay marriages confuse our children and give the general public a false sense of what is correct. In a world which grows more and more in corruption by the day, this article was just another example of how Satan is getting to people through rationalization. I don't believe that a man who wants to smoke marijuana in his house in New York is directly threatening me. I don't believe that an ex convict stealing a car in Louisiana is affecting me on any personal level. Does that mean I shouldn't concern myself with such things and allow these people to have their 'happiness?'

I think we are forgetting what true happiness is, and I can assure you that no one will ever find lasting happiness through homosexuality. I also don't believe that using polygamy as an example of unconventional marriage can be considered on the same echelon as gay marriages. The Lord never commanded anyone to marry someone of the same gender. I would ask you to step back a moment and consider if you are condoning such things as a result of rationalization, or if you honestly and truly believe that there is no problem with legalizing gay marriages in this country.
