I watched a very exciting game on ESPN Monday night. BYU beat San Diego State 83-69 in overtime. Most of you probably missed it. Steve Cleveland is a very good coach, but I suspect he will never have a truly great basketball program until he develops a loyal group of fans who come to all the games dressed in Cougar blue, fill every seat in the Marriott Center and cheer vocally for the home team.
I suggest we give the Marriott's their money back, tear the place down and build a nice, cozy little 8,000 seat facility for those who truly want to see the games. Even the team would likely prefer that to the cavernous, half-empty (on the best days) Marriott Center. If you can't fill the place with fans dressed in blue for a nationally televised, must win battle between two pretty good teams who both need a win, then you don't deserve the third largest on-campus arena in the country.
