Not being able to attend in person, I look forward to watching the devotional each Tuesday with my wife and small children on BYUTV. Elder Holland said my primary responsibility as a father is to place my family in situations where they can feel the spirit. That is why BYU Devotionals are so important to me. Along with Sunday meetings and Family Home Evening, Tuesday Devotional provides another opportunity for me to complete this responsibility.
I am sorry to say that though the dancers were obviously talented, the Devotional did not place my family in a situation to feel the spirit. The music was harsh and the dancing suggestive. We ended up turning the television off very disappointed that such precious time was wasted. Could there not be a better use for devotional time than to display worldly values?
