Tortilla-throwing stupid

Dear Editor,

I think the fans throwing tortillas need to stop. I think it makes our school look kind of stupid, just like the people running around with no shirts on because they are trying to get on TV.

There are better ways to show support for your team. Yell and scream as loud as you want. That's what I do.

Throwing anything from the stands is against the rules at LaVell Edwards Stadium and at every other stadium that I know of.

I have seen people get hit in the head and it looks like it hurts. I have seen people get hit in the head with paper airplanes and that looks like it hurts even worse.

I think a better use of the tortillas would be to donate them to feed the homeless.

I am pretty sure the Tortilleros (by the way, I think that is a pretty cool name) will keep throwing the tortillas, and if the athletic department or the events staff tries to stop them, that will only make them more determined.

It will be interesting to see what happens at the homecoming game. If 12,000 tortillas go flying onto the field, I am sure the refs will throw their flags.

And a 15-yard penalty is a big deal. It wouldn't be very funny if a penalty like that cost our team the game.
