BYU's Dining Service was able to find out where it stands in service in a benchmark survey.
Dining Services distributed a survey to 3,563 customers at all Dining Services location.
The survey asked questions concerning service, food, and overall dining experience.
'We are constantly surveying our guest to keep a pulse on how we're doing,' said Dean Wright, director of Dining Services.
BYU's Takeout Catering ranked highest overall in the survey with 56 percent of participants very satisfied. Followed by Wymount Creamery with a 47 percent of participants very satisfied.
'I was pleased with the customer service I received with Takeout Catering,' said Brice Armstrong, a BYU alumnus.
Dining services prides its self in it's customer service. The customer service provided reflects the many awards Dining Services has received.
'BYU should be very proud in dining services, having been recognized in the last two years with the three highest awards given in hospitality industry,' Wright said.
These awards include The Silver Plate Award, The Ivy Award and The Theodore Minah Award.
However, the survey indicates that there are areas of improvement for Dining Services. Cosmos, the Wyview Creamery and Jamba Juice all received over 5 percent in the overall very dissatisfied category.
'In the spring it's okay, but in the fall it's ridicules the lines are so long,' said Ben Volmer, 23, a senior from Richland, Wash. majoring in finance.
Dining Services takes the results of their benchmark surveys to improve areas of weakness.
There are plans to improve and upgrade the Skyroom. These plans are in conjunction from results of the customer service survey, Wright said.
'We're a team of people dedicated to customer service,' Wright said.
Results of the survey were compared with the results from the previous year. Some restaurant showed improvement while some showed digression.
Taco Bell and Scoreboard Grill both decreased in overall scores when compared with previous year. But the Cannon Center and Morris Center both increased over 4 percent in overall satisfaction.
Fifty-five percent of customers polled were very satisfied with Subway in the Service Friendliness category. Garrett Gibbons shares in the opinion of those polled
'I think it's great the employees at the Cougareat are very nice, especially at Subway,' said Garrett Gibbons, 21, a sophomore from Seattle.
Whatever the results, the survey gives Dining Services a chance to see customers point-of-view and take it in to consideration for future plans to improve customer satisfaction.
