Letter to the Editor: Wrongly judged

Dear Editor,

I do not attend BYU and I have facial hair. My wife spent four years at BYU for her B.S. and is currently getting her Masters at BYU.

Each time I have come to campus to pick her up, I encounter a steady stream of dirty looks from both professors and students.

Now, these are not looks of 'Oh my heck, a guy with facial hair?' Rather, these looks imply 'Be damned to hell, for facial hair is of the devil.'

I am a visitor to your campus and have yet to have a pleasant, judgment-free experience.

BYU students seem to equate facial hair with a lack of standards, or should I venture to say 'evilness.'

This narrow-minded and judgmental view only proves the ignorance and uneducated state of those judging.

I double-checked the 10 commandments, and could

not find a 'Thou shalt not have facial hair' among the lot.
