Two roommates were arrested Sunday, Nov. 5, after an altercation in the parking lot of 865 W. Columbia Ln. in Provo, according to a police report.

Rikamati Naare, 24, was trying to pick a fight with his roommate, Thomas Wellington, 25, and was chasing him around the parking lot of the apartment trying to strike him.

Naare was arrested on charges of simple assault and domestic violence.

Wellington was also arrested when police found an outstanding warrant for him during a routine name check.

The roommates had been living together since July or August, according to the report.

Naare told police he was angry with Wellington because he thought Welllington was messy and left lights on.

Police felt it was better to arrest Naare than to cite him because he posed a possible threat of physical violence, according to the report.
