Blue foam covered the entire field as teams battled it out to see who would rule True Blue Football.
Seven members of each team slipped and slid Thursday on West Helaman field in another of the many Homecoming activities.
The playing field was covered in soap bubbles dyed blue -- so were the players by the time they were done.
Fun was the object of the game said Melanie Kirry, 21, True Blue Football activities chair.
'People smiling, people laughing, that's what we came for,' Kirry said.
She wasn't sure if the blue foam would stain the players' clothes, but she said it would be fun to see blue people walking around at school tomorrow.
Dave Eves, 24, a senior from Rialto, Calif., majoring in business management said he would never forget seeing a football field filled with suds.
'I just want to do a sliding dive into it, but I know I have to get back into my car to go home,' Eves said.
Travis Adamson, 18, a freshman from Pasco, Wash., studying microbiology wasn't afraid of getting a little blue.
Adamson said the game was fun, but he had a few complaints. He said it was too short, and the goggles they were required to wear fogged up.
'Too bad LaVell wasn't here to see me,' Adamson said.
Adamson and members of his team, the Titans, said they could have taken on the BYU team in the foam.
Melissa Phillips, 20, executive director of True Blue Football said she hoped students would come to know the game with the same association as the Homecoming dances.
'Nothing could be more entertaining to me than playing in soap,' Phillips said.
Prizes were given to the team that scored the most points in their 15-minute competition.
Football pens and BYU cups were the trophies given to the winning team, donated by the BYU Bookstore.
