TRAX train service will be available on Sunday, Oct. 8, for the 170th Semi-annual General Conference for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Kim Farah, spokeswoman for the LDS Church, said anyone using TRAX Sunday would pay a regular fare and UTA passes would be honored.
The church has also agreed to pay any deficit in Utah Transit Authority operating costs, Farah said.
The church wants to make traveling easier because of the large numbers of people that will be attending general conference, Farah said.
On Sunday, TRAX will make its regularly scheduled stops. TRAX trains will leave the Sandy Civic Center at 10000 South every 10 minutes beginning at 7:00 a.m. and ending at 7:20 p.m. The last southbound train will depart the Delta Center at 8:05 p.m., Farah said.
Those who will be using TRAX Park-and-Ride lots are encouraged to carpool to maximize parking availability, Farah said.
UTA buses will not operate on Sunday.
