After a wave of controversy, the Salt Lake Organizing Committee released the 'Geld' document Thursday.
This 28-page document discussed how to gain support from IOC members for an Olympic bid. It was written in the early 1990s.
The decision came after SLOC received a letter from the Department of Justice Wednesday stating that there were no plans to indict SLOC for 'its actions to influence members of the International Olympic Committee.'
Hesitation for releasing the 'Geld' document occurred because of the Department of Justice's investigation of the bid scandal.
Mitt Romney, CEO of SLOC, has supported the release of the document.
At the Joint Meeting of SLOC Management Committee and Board of Trustees on May 10, Romney said, 'I want to get it out in the public. I have no interest of holding onto information that happened before we got here.'
