Tips on how to apply makeup and what kind of products to use can be found across the Internet.

BEAUTY.COM

This easy-to-use site has affiliation with Kevyn Aucoin, the makeup artist who created looks for Celine Dion, Cher and others.

Every month, Aucoin does a special how-to makeup look exclusively for beauty.com. Each makeover includes product recommendations and some helpful hints for users to replicate the featured look.

Aucoin uses models of different ages, colors and sizes and posts before and after photos to show what a difference he can make with his makeup techniques.

The site walks users through the process of applying foundation, eye shadow, lip-liner and so on, using photos and captions to demonstrate his suggested methods.

The site also offers online advice from a live representative. The representative is there to answer any beauty question in a timely and professional manner.

Beauty.com offers many products available for purchase as well a chance to meet the site's 'It Girls'--celebrities in various cities (like New York DJ Samantha Ronson) who pick their favorite local clubs, spas, restaurants etc., and offer their insights on what's in and out.

/BEAUTYBUZZ.COM

This site offers a variety of features ranging from shopping and review links to contests, social causes and fitness focus links.

There is also a message board where people from across the nation get together and talk about makeup.

One feature about this site, beside all the links it provides to various beauty outlets, is the fact that the product reviews are done by beautybuzz.com's panel.

These reviews give an average consumer's viewpoint on a wide range of products.

The site also features on its home page an interview link, which lets users see what questions beautybuzz.com panelists have asked the professionals and what answers they have received.

Beautybuzz.com is updated frequently.

BEAUTYGURU.COM

This site is a resource for some of the latest beauty and cosmetic information available online.

It reviews new products and links to cosmetic company sites and allows users to shop online.

The site offers hundreds of links to other sites and categorizes them in an easy-to-use way.

Beautyguru.com can also be used as springboard to a wide range of other similar beauty sites.

While answers to a wide variety of beauty questions can be found on the Web, others opt to get their advice from different sources.

'If I was looking for beauty tips, I would talk to people I knew, because they would give me an honest opinion and would probably give me suggestions on things they have already tried,' said Sara Dea, a senior from Auburn, Neb., majoring in elementary education.

Hillary Beck, a sophomore from Burley, Idaho, majoring in travel and tourism, agreed with Dea.

'I would probably ask a friend for advice rather than look on the Internet or in a magazine,' she said
