Elder M. Russell Ballard of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles will speak at the Devotional on Tuesday, March 13, at 11 a.m. in the Marriott Center.
Elder Ballard was sustained as an apostle for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on October 6, 1985. Prior to this call, he was a member of the presidency of the First Quorum of the Seventy.
He was born in Salt Lake City on October 8, 1928 to Melvin R. and Geraldine Smith Ballard.
Elder Ballard attended the University of Utah.
He married Barbara Bowen in the Salt Lake Temple on August 28, 1951. They have seven children, two sons and five daughters.
Elder Ballard has served on many civic and church committees and boards. He is the author of 'Our Search for Happiness' and 'Counseling with Our Councils.'
The Devotional will be broadcast live on KBYU-TV, Channel 11, and KBYU-FM, 89.1. It will be rebroadcast Sun., April 1 on Channel 11 at 6 a.m. and 11 a.m.
