The Tae Bo workout that seems to be everywhere these days, from television to magazines, promises fast results from the high-powered workout.
Tae Bo was created by seven time martial arts world champion Billy Blank. It is a combination of martial arts, dance and boxing.
I normally have a phobia towards workout tapes and gyms, but the infomercial for this program was so convincing I ordered the four video tapes over the phone.
The videos you can order for around $60 and starts with a basic video that takes you step by step through the basic moves and three workout tapes.
The infomerical and Internet site features testimonials by celebrities as well as everyday people who promise that Tae Bo changed their life.
The beginner tape did not seem so difficult and I thought for a second that I could obtain these amazing results without too much hard work.
No such luck. I should have guessed that since Blank and the other people working out with him were sweating profusely in the first tape.
The advanced tape is not something you can just jump into. After I did it I could feel how using Tae Bo regularly could change my body and my sweating patterns. I was convinced I had never sweated so much in my life.
The real secret to fast Tae Bo results is dedication. The workout is easy because it is enjoyable, but finding the drive and time to workout seems like the hard part.
Recent articles in 'Elle,' 'InStyle' and 'Time' magazine all address the fact that Tae Bo is on its way to becoming the next big workout program for the future.
Tae Bo's popularity can be attributed to the fact that it is fun. I think everyone secretly wants to learn to karate kick and punch correctly.
With this workout, you can pretend to be in a martial arts movie and burn fat. Also, after I tried Tae Bo I walked around my apartment practicing the new moves I learned.
This was the first workout tape I have seen where the instructor assures you that he is watching you and sends his love to you as you workout.
Blank obviously loves what he does, which helps me to put in a little more energy in my workout when I was at the verge of collapse.
