Though the haunted house at Laser Force in Provo is scarier than I can handle, there is still room for improvement.
One problem could have been the fact that there was no one else there on a Wednesday night and all of the attention was turned to the only two people in the building. That might have raised the intensity and been the cause for the personal tour.
The tour takes approximately 10 minutes. Even though it is short, it is so intense that it would be pure torture to stay any longer.
However, with such a short show compared the size of the Laser Force building, it has much room for improvement.
There is not much of creativity to this haunted house. There are the usual spider webs, chain saws and surrounding blackness, but nothing that grabs your attention or distracts you from what might be next.
I just lived in fear of what was behind me because they wouldn't stop following my every move. It is more of a confusing maze with men following behind you and chasing after you than anything else.
There are no real special effects that catch your eye either. It is scary because it is dark and creepy. Nothing makes it enjoyable throughout the experience. If you call getting squirted in the face with water and stepping on people hiding in the hay special effects, that is the extent of it for Laser Force.
The people who greet you at the door are in full costume just to take your money which is a different touch than some others. Instead of just paying and entering, you are escorted to the back where the terror begins.
There is plenty of parking available for a weeknight, but the for the weekends, it may require more parking in the rear or the streets.
The cost is $7 for weeknights and $9 for weekends. For the cost related to the amount of work put into it and length, it is a little over-priced.
If you have ever played laser tag there, it is the same set up. But,instead of your friends with guns and flashing lights around every corner, there are strange-looking ghouls and other oddities that don't just shoot and go away.
For those that like the torture and having their pants scared off, this is the one. I give Laser Force Haunted House two and a half pumpkins for the intensity of terror, parking space and organization.
