The Testing Center in the Heber J. Grant building is changing its hours to accommodate students.
The Testing Center was previously open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. weekdays and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays. Monday hours will now be 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. The weekday hours, Tuesday through Friday, will remain the same, but the Testing Center will extend its hours on Saturday, remaining open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This change was made after talking to students, said Bud Wood, manager of testing services.
'It was also a cost issue,' Wood said.
The BYU Testing Center realized students wanted more hours Saturday. To keep the amount of operational hours the same, the center cut out some of the less busy hours.
Some students seem to be pleased with the change.
'I think changing the hours is very convenient. I like taking tests on Saturday. Maybe this change will allow teachers to schedule more Saturday tests,' said Laura Dressen, 20, a junior from Litchfield, Illinois, majoring in Design.
The hours are already in effect for Fall Semester.
