The David O. McKay Building was evacuated Wednesday morning because of a bearing that burned out in the basement.
Lt. Greg Barber with the University Police said the smoke alarm in the building was activated when the bearing began to burn. The alarm was restored and the bearing was replaced.
No damage was sustained except the replacement of the bearing, Barber said.
