Kīlauea Volcano on the Big Island in Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park erupted on April 9. The U.S. geological survey placed the area under a red warning, which is the highest level alert issued and indicates critical weather conditions. The volcano has been erupting on and off since December 2024 and the latest eruption caused park closures and evacuations. This eruption could cause issues for aviation if ash clouds are released.
