A group of swimmers was almost struck by falling rocks at the Lower Calf Creek Trail in Utah’s Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument on June 25. No injuries have been reported from the rockfall, but Utah’s Bureau of Land Management said similar incidents have happened in the past. According to national park officials, hikers are encouraged to enjoy the Lower Calf Creek Trail but to enter at their own caution due falling rock risk.
