The BYU women’s cross country team took second place at the NCAA National Championships on Saturday in Columbia, MO. The Cougars scored 130 points, 16 points behind the NC State champions.
The Cougars were led by freshman Jane Hendengren, who took second overall with a time of 18:38 over the 6k course. Following close behind was teammate Riley Chamberlain who took fourth overall with a time of 18:47.
Following behind Chamberlain was sophomore Nelah Roberts in 41st, senior Taylor Rohatinsky in 47th and Junior Taylor Lovell in 55th to grab the final points for the Cougars. They came through with times of 19:22, 19:29, and 19:35.
Closing out the race for BYU was senior Carmen Alder in 75th with a time of 19:44, and Freshman Zariel Macchia in 82nd with a time of 19:50.
Only 1 minute and 12 seconds separated BYU’s first runner from their last.
That race concludes the 2025 Cross Country season for the Cougars.
