BYU athletic director Brian Santiago announced June 4 that Todd Miller has been named the next head coach of the BYU men’s golf program.
Miller succeeds Bruce Brockbank, who retired after 34 seasons leading the Cougars. Brockbank will remain with the team through July.
“We are excited to announce Todd Miller as our new head men’s golf coach,” Santiago said. “He has been mentored by one of the best coaches in the business, Bruce Brockbank, and is ready to lead our golf program into the future.”
Miller has spent the past 21 seasons on the BYU golf staff, serving seven years as an assistant coach and 14 years as director of golf. During his time as director of golf, the Cougars won 41 tournaments, including the 2025 NCAA Reno Regional and four conference championships. BYU golfers also captured 38 individual titles and made seven NCAA National Championship appearances during that span.
“I am humbled by this unique opportunity to be a head coach at Brigham Young University,” Miller said. “For the past 21 years, I’ve watched Bruce Brockbank recruit, coach and love our golfers, and now I get the privilege to step into that role.”
Miller's connection to BYU dates back to his playing career. He joined the program in 1998 and completed his collegiate career in 2005 after serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Chile Santiago South Mission from 2000 to 2002.
As a player, Miller earned honorable mention All-America honors in 2004 and Academic All-America recognition in 2005. In 42 career events, he recorded three top-five finishes, five top-10 finishes and seven top-15 finishes.
Miller said he hopes to build an environment where student-athletes can develop spiritually and academically while competing at a high level.
“Our goal will be to win another national championship,” Miller said.
Miller is the son of former BYU All-American, PGA Tour golfer and longtime golf analyst Johnny Miller. He also played alongside his brothers, Scott and Andy Miller, during his first two seasons with the Cougars.
