No. 21 BYU women's volleyball falls to No. 8 ASU in Tempe

After taking the first set 25-17, BYU women's volleyball lost three sets in a row and dropped the match to the No. 8 Arizona State Sun Devils.

With the win, the Sun Devils held onto their undefeated record at home in Desert Financial Arena.

The Cougars put up big numbers with double-doubles from Alex Bower, Suli Davis, and Claire Little Chambers, but it wasn’t enough to stop ASU.

During the second set, BYU’s Suli Davis reached 400 kills this season as a freshman. Win or lose, Davis has been unstoppable on the court.

Claire Little Chambers’ solid performance included five career-high aces as part of the 10 total that the Cougars put down.

Brielle Kemavor also put up 10 kills to add to the powerful hitting lineup for the Cougars.

BYU suffered in its blocking game and its inability to clean up their service errors. The Cougars had six more service errors than the Sun Devils.

With several lead changes throughout the final three sets, the Cougars could not finish on top.

Looking forward to next week’s play, BYU has a matchup Friday against Utah in Salt Lake City.
