Some of the most valuable athletes on a team aren’t always the most talked about.
On March 30, Aubryn Ordyna and Jackson Fife were recognized for their impact, earning the Tom Holmoe One Team Award at the BYU Y Awards.
The award is given annually to athletes who consistently put the team first — the ones who do whatever is needed, no matter the role.
For BYU Cougars women’s swim and dive, Ordyna has been a steady and dependable presence throughout the season. In a sport built around individual performances, her influence shows up in preparation, consistency and the way she supports the team day to day.
Fife has played a similar role for BYU men’s volleyball. On a team that depends on depth and trust, his value has come through reliability, energy and being ready whenever his number is called.
