No. 24 BYU women's volleyball knocks off Utah in 5-set Senior Night thriller

In an emotional senior night playing Utah, BYU came up victorious in a 5 set battle.

Rivalry week is already an emotional feat, however adding senior night on top of this made for an exciting match up with the Cougars vs. the Utes.

Just a few weeks ago, BYU fell short against Utah on the road in five sets as well. These teams battled it out tonight with the match consistently going back and forth.

Brielle Kemavor came up with a huge block to tie the first set 23-23 and then BYU shortly put away two more points to win the set, 25-23.

Although the Cougars had momentum, it quickly shifted as the Utes took the next set and ran. They had consistent kills and offensive dominance, winning the set 25-17.

BYU regrouped for the third, as freshman star Suli Davis led the team in offense along with Kemavor and Claire Little-Chambers. The Cougars had a substantial lead and then almost dropped it as the lost consecutive match points. However they did come out again on top, 25-23.

Momentum once again shifted back in favor of the Utes as they won the fourth, 25-15.

The final set concluded to be a nail-biter, but the Cougars rallied and concluded their home season run winning 15-10. Little-Chambers won the final point with an ace.

Davis has broken plenty of records this season but has now broken the all-time freshman record of kills in a single season.

The Cougars will now go on the road as they are set to play No. 23 Colorado on Friday night.
