No. 21 BYU women's volleyball is set to play Houston in a Saturday afternoon matchup

No. 21 BYU women’s volleyball is set to play the Cougars from down south, the University of Houston, Saturday in the Smith Fieldhouse at 1 p.m.

BYU is looking for its third conference win this season and playing back at home is just the way to do that.

The Smith Fieldhouse averages about 3,400 fans per game, leaving BYU with a massive home court advantage after being on the road for the last two matches.

The Houston Cougars head into this game 8-7 in preseason and 1-3 in conference play. This creates an exciting matchup for BYU with a possibility of improving its Big 12 record to 3-2 as it sits in seventh place.

BYU’s offense is led by freshman standout Suli Davis, who just won Big 12 rookie of the week after her performance against Cincinnati with a career-high 27 kills. Her persistent energy is a force to be reckoned with on the court.

Houston is coming off a two-game losing streak and sits 13th in the Big 12 standings.

Houston has struggled to gain any momentum in conference play and will have a quick turnaround as it is set to play Utah on Thursday night.
