Former BYU women’s soccer forward Erin Bailey commits to Arkansas

Former BYU women’s soccer forward Erin Bailey has committed to Arkansas.

Bailey announced the news via her Instagram account Sunday evening.

The junior from Layton, Utah, scored in the contest between the two schools back in the first week of September.

In her time at BYU, Bailey has played in 58 games, started in eight, scored 16 goals, tallied two assists and totaled 34 points in 1,802 minutes of play.

Bailey led the Cougars in scoring through six games last season with five goals while coming off the bench in the 2023 season.

With one year of eligibility left, she joins an offense that had a plus-57 goal differential in the 2024 season. The Razorbacks scored 71 goals and held opponents to 14.

Bailey replaces graduates Ava Tankersley and Kate Doyle, who led the team in goals (12 and 13), assists (nine and six), shots (62 and 44), shots on goal (40 and 27) and points (33 and 32).

Tankersley was named the program’s third MAC Hermann Semifinalist after being selected the SEC Forward of the Year and a First Team All-SEC selection.

She will join forwards Anaiyah Robinson and Bella Field, who were the third and fourth leading scorers behind Tankersley and Doyle.

Bailey’s experience and dynamic scoring ability will add to the depth of a team that has made four Sweet 16 appearances and earned a No. 2 seed in the NCAA tournament this past season.

The Razorbacks were rated 5th in the country, per the United Soccer Coaches poll in the Southeastern Conference and have won the conference title four out of the last six years (2019, 2020, 2021, 2023).

The 5-foot-5 forward/midfielder has proven to be an elite finisher and will join the program the first week of January before the upcoming 2025 spring season.
