BYU’s men and women’s track team dominated in the DMR race, claiming the titles of Big 12 DMR Champions in Lubbock, Texas.
The men’s team came in first by just over two whole seconds. The race was run by Carter Cutting, Brayden Dahl, Brayden Packard, and Tayvon Kitchen. Two of which hold BYU all-time records in other indoor events.
The Cougars were in the lead for the majority of the race, dropping as low as third then fourth in the initial laps, but quickly found their spot at the head of the pack.
Kitchen sealed the win crossing the finish line at 9:38.98.
This was the first BYU men’s Big 12 DMR title since joining the conference in 2023.
