BYU guard Kennard Davis was involved in a car crash and subsequently cited with driving under the influence charges on Thursday, according to the Provo Police Department.
The accident occurred on Thursday at 11:45 a.m. at the intersection of 900 West Center Street in Provo, according to Provo police.
During the investigation of the car crash, officers arrested Davis, 20, for suspicion of driving under the influence and was transported to the Provo Police Department, where he was cited with DUI charges, according to Provo police.
Davis was later released for medical treatment for "minor injuries," the report said. His car was impounded after the incident, according to police.
Davis is a starter for the BYU men's basketball team. The junior transferred to BYU this season after averaging 16.5 points per game at Southern Illinois in the 2024-25 season.
When asked for an official comment, BYU Athletics said, "We are aware of the allegations and looking into the situation."
