In its first in-state game of the week, BYU volleyball came out strong, sweeping Weber State in three straight sets, 25-15, 27-25, 25-19.
The win marks the Cougars’ fifth consecutive sweep, extending their early-season dominance and setting the tone for a week packed with Utah-based competition.
The first set was a breeze for the Cougars, winning 25-15, but the following set got tight in the end going to overtime, ending with some missed serves by Weber State and finally an ace by Claire Little-Chambers. The final set went to the Cougars after some big plays from both the offense and defense.

BYU coach Heather Olmstead, is looking forward to this week's games being in Utah as her team prepares to take on Colorado at home as it begins Big 12 conference play.
This week, BYU will face two more in-state opponents: Utah State on Thursday and Utah Valley on Saturday.
In-state games often carry extra weight as many players have crossed paths in club volleyball or high school tournaments, adding layers of familiarity and rivalry. With all three matches taking place close to home, BYU will have reduced travel fatigue, saving energy to maintain its momentum.
With the first Big 12 matchup against Colorado looming, Olmstead sees this week as a chance to reinforce the team’s performance.
With Utah pride on the line and conference play just around the corner, this in-state stretch is more than just a scheduling quirk; it’s a chance to prepare for the Big 12 slate.
