Between the dynamic quartet of Chelsea Bluestein, Kendall Kovick, Grace Levelston and Sue Yan Tan, BYU Women's Tennis secured three huge wins at the Troy Invite in Los Angeles, California.
All four women represented BYU in the singles bracket, as well as the doubles bracket. The Cougars secured two victories in the singles bracket, as well as one in the doubles bracket.
Senior Kendall Kovick and sophmore Grace Levelston each secured a victory in the singles bracket while the duo of Levelston and freshman Sue Yan Tan secured a victory in the doubles bracket.
Levelston began the winning for BYU when she took down Parker Fry of USC in two straight sets. Levelston won the first set seven games to six games in extra points (7-4). She would go on to win the second set 6-3.
Kovick would continue the momentum for BYU as she took down Sloane Morra of USC in dominating fashion in two straight sets as well; 6-2 games in the first set and 6-0 in the second set.
Levelston and Yan Tan secured a crucial victory in the doubles bracket as well taking down Sloane Morra and Simone Kay of USC 6-3.
"It was exciting to have the girls back on court competing and to see where we are at," said coach Holly Hasler. "We are making progress daily and have some great things to work on in preparation for regionals in a few weeks."
The Cougars are currently preparing for regionals that begin on Oct. 17 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Senior Bobo Huang is also preparing for the ITF W35 Bakersfield invite that begins Monday in Bakersfield, California.
