The victory capped off a weekend sweep in Memphis, as the Cougars had already overwhelmed Arkansas State.
The day started with Sofiia Mykhailets and Emma Dvorackova of Memphis defeating Gracie Levelston and Sue Yan Tan 6-1. BYU won the doubles point with the next two matches after, Yuyun Chen and Kendall Kovick, as well as Karina Mohamed and Bella Lewis, each won their doubles matches 6-4.
The Cougars started singles matches with a commanding win by Mohamed over Rebecca Frant, 6-2, 6-1.
Sue Yan Tan fell to Memphis’ Natalia Koppova in two sets, 7-5, 6-3, but BYU secured the next two points to cap off Saturday’s showdown. Freshman Sage Bergeson defeated Dvorackova, 6-4, 6-1, and Kovick outdueled Alicia Mall, 6-3, 6-3.
The win puts BYU in a good position as it returns to Provo to host for its first time in 2026, as the Washington State Cougars visit Feb. 13. The matchup marks the first of a four-game homestand before BYU opens up Big 12 play at the end of February in Orlando.
