The Draper, Utah, native has struggled with injuries over his last two seasons at BYU. Despite the injuries, Hagen still contributed to the BYU offense, ending the 2025 season with 12 receptions for 97 yards.
Known for his speed, Hagen was utilized in the run game for the Cougars, often in sweep plays or around runs around the edge. Hagen recorded nine carries for 93 yards and two touchdowns.
Hagen’s first touchdown of the 2025 season was in the Cougars’ home opener against Portland State. On a trick play, Hagen took the handoff 57 yards down the sideline and into the end zone, putting BYU up 28-0.
His second touchdown of the season came just weeks later in a close game against the Colorado Buffaloes. In yet another trick play, dubbed the “Tornado Reverse,” Hagen was discreetly handed the ball as quarterback Bear Bachmeier spun in a circle, faking the handoff to two other players.
Making his way around the left side of the offensive line, Hagen took off downfield and once again raced into the end zone. The score put the Cougars up 24-21, winning them the game.
Before he came to BYU, Hagen was one of the highest-rated players in the state of Utah. Rated a four-star recruit by 247Sports, Hagen showcased his talent the most during his senior season with Corner Canyon High School.
Hagen won the Utah Gatorade Player of the Year Award in 2021 and finished his senior season with 89 receptions for 1,805 yards and 23 touchdowns. He also recorded 10 games with 100 yards during his senior year, including 227 yards receiving on six receptions in a single game.
Despite his football success, Hagen chose to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was assigned to serve in San Bernardino, California.
Hagen is a junior at BYU and studying business in the Marriott School of Business.
