BYU swimmers selected to represent Team USA at 2026 FISU America Games

Three BYU swimmers are set to compete on the international stage this summer after being selected to represent Team USA at the 2026 FISU America Games in Lima, Peru.

Max Kleinman, Darwin Anderson and Lucy Warnick earned spots on the U.S. roster, marking a significant milestone for the program and the athletes as they prepare to compete against top collegiate swimmers from across the Americas.

Warnick, one of BYU’s top swimmers, said the opportunity carries special meaning.

“Being selected to represent Team USA is just a dream come true,” Warnick said. “This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and is definitely something I’m not taking for granted.”

The FISU America Games serve as a continental championship for university athletes across North, Central and South America. The swimming competition is scheduled for July 24–26 at the Videna Aquatic Center, a venue that previously hosted the 2019 Pan American Games.

Selection to Team USA is based on long-course meter qualifying standards, with final roster decisions made by the coaching staff. Meeting the standards alone does not guarantee a spot, as roster positions are limited.

Warnick said the journey to this point has required persistence and consistency.

“This past season was full of ups and downs, but one thing I kept falling back on is consistency in training,” Warnick said. “Trusting my process is something I’ve been working on my entire career and this opportunity feels like all of that hard work is coming together.”

The international meet will bring together athletes from across the Americas, offering both high-level competition and a unique team experience.

“I am definitely most excited to represent Team USA,” Warnick said. “I get to meet other collegiate swimmers from across the NCAA and be united as a team and compete for the U.S.”

The 2026 FISU America Games will run from July 20 through Aug. 1, with swimming events taking place during the final weekend of competition.
