BYU superstar Casey Clinger has been a standout for the Cougars in track and field and cross country.
Clinger is an eight-time All-American and holds four BYU school records, including the 10,000-meter record, which he took this season from coach Ed Eyestone with a time of 27:11.00.
Last Thursday, Clinger announced on Instagram he would be taking the next step and going pro following this season with the Cougars.
“Running for BYU has been life-changing. This place has helped me grow and become a better man and athlete. I have made countless memories here that I will cherish forever,” Clinger wrote on Instagram.
Following his announcement to go pro on Thursday, Clinger announced Friday that he had signed a professional contract with Brooks as an individually sponsored athlete.
Brooks is a running shoe company that was voted the top brand for both training and race shoe categories as of the 2024 Global Runner Survey.
Clinger is Brooks' first NIL athlete to move into the professional sector and will continue to train under Eyestone in Utah.
