BYU football cracks the top 30 in 2026 recruiting rankings

For years, the BYU football program has hovered around the 50s and 60s when it comes to recruiting rankings.

Now, after an 11-2 season in 2024, the Cougars have clocked in at No. 29 in 247 Sports' 2026 recruiting rankings. It's shaping up to be one of the best recruiting classes in BYU history.

The two crown jewels of the class are from Utah natives Brock Harris and Bott Mulitalo.

Harris, one of the top tight ends in the country, is the 68th best player in the nation and the second ranked recruit in the state of Utah. Mulitalo, an offensive lineman, comes in at 93rd nationally and No. 3 in the state.

In the last two days, BYU has landed the commits of two 3-stars in wide receiver Terrance Saryon, and athlete Sefanaia Alitini. Saryon decommitted from Washington to join the Cougars.

The Cougars have nine commits so far, none lower that a 3-star ranking.

It's still early in the recruiting cycle, but if BYU stays on its current track, people might be looking back at the 2026 recruiting class as something special.
