BYU basketball lands another key transfer on its roster

The 2025-26 roster is coming together one piece at a time this offseason for BYU.

On Friday, Southern Illinois guard/wing Kennard Davis Jr. announced on social media that he will be transferring to BYU.

Davis averaged 16.3 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.6 assists on 37.6% 3-pt shooting in his sophomore season. That stat line earned the 6-foot-6 scorer a second team All-Missouri Valley Conference spot.

Davis has two seasons of eligibility left and will provide the Cougars with some much-needed scoring after they lost key contributors Egor Demin, Fousseyni Traore, Trevin Knell and Dallin Hall following the season's end.

This is the third transfer to commit to BYU in the offseason. Defensive force Dominique Diamonde and potential starting point guard Rob Wright lll were the other two players that committed.

Kevin Young will still need a few more pieces to fill out the roster, but as of right now, this announcement already looks promising for the Cougars.
