BYU baseball picked up a key road win Friday, taking down the Baylor Bears 10-4 in Waco, Texas, to even the three-game series at one game apiece.
BYU wasted no time setting the tone, pushing across three runs in the first inning and staying aggressive at the plate all night. Baylor answered in the third to tie it, but the Cougars stayed steady and responded with consistent offense to pull away.
Tualau Wolfgramm delivered in big moments, while Ridge Erickson and Patrick Graham each homered to give BYU separation. The Cougars finished with 13 hits and controlled the game from the middle innings on.
On the mound, BYU found its rhythm after the early innings. Nate Gray came out of the bullpen and shut things down late to secure the win.
The rubber match of the series is set for Saturday at 1 p.m. CDT in Waco.
