Speakers throughout the Sunday afternoon session emphasized covenants and rejoicing in Jesus Christ.

Elder D. Todd Christopherson, second counselor in the First Presidency, began the session with a message focused on the character of Jesus Christ.

Christlike character grows out of a Christlike heart. Thus, if we are to succeed in developing a Christlike character, we must possess His motivations," he said.

Conference attendee and Brigham Young University student, Savannah Johnson, appreciated Elder Christopherson's emphasis on Christ-like love.

I loved President Christophersons talk; it was so good. I feel like his talk on charity and turning outwards really hit me," she said.

Primary General President Susan H. Porter shifted to address the children in the audience, emphasizing their role in God's plan.

Today you can make choices that will help you change and grow now and prepare you for blessings of love and joy forever," she said.

The importance of covenants was also stressed by multiple leaders including the idea of marriage. Sunday afternoon attendee and BYU student Brady Rustad appreciated this focus.

The fact that families can be eternal and together forever is a very core part of our beliefs," Rustad said.

The session was concluded with the words of President Dallin H. Oaks.

Truly, Jesus Christ is the way to peace in this world, and eternal life in the world to come," he said.

President Oaks also encouraged members to ponder and pray over the messages shared during Conference.

As people attending the session and those watching from home finished watching General Conference, they carried the messages with them into their own lives.
