Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints gathered to hear Church leaders speak during the Sunday morning session of General Conference on Oct. 5, 2025.

Testimonies of service to others, change through Jesus Christ and seeking after words of living prophets were shared.

Elder Jeffrey R. Holland of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles spoke first. He shared his witness of Jesus Christ, relating it to the parable of a blind man being healed.

“The impact in my life of the Book of Mormon is no less miraculous than was the application of spit and dirt placed on the blind man’s eyes,” Holland said.

Holland testified that even when people may not understand how the Savior heals, they can trust that His way is for their good.

“How easy it is for us to dismiss the source of our redemption because the ingredients and instruments seem embarrassingly plain,” he said.

Elder James E. Evanson of the Seventy spoke next about the power of service missionaries and the blessing they are in sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. He said service missionaries have a greater impact than many may realize in spreading the light of Christ.

“If proselyting missionaries are His mouth, then you are His Hands,” Evanson said, referring to service missionaries.

Lucy Grace Astilla, from the Philippines, attended the conference in person for the first time. She said Evanson’s talk had a great impact on her.

“Right now, I’m working with the missionary application in the Philippines and so I meet a lot of these applicants regarding this service mission. Most of them are so very, very happy to serve in all their capacity,” she said.

Astilla said the session felt very spiritual and uplifting.

Elder Ulisses Soares of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles spoke about changing one's behavior to be in line with what the Savior teaches.

“As we strive to change our behavior with faith and humility, we can be firmly anchored to the solid rock of His grace,” Soares said.

Soares said he has visited members who embody living with temperance in all things, just as the Savior did.

“As covenant people, we are called to live with our hearts firmly rooted in the sacred promises we have made to the Lord, carefully following the pattern He established through His perfect example,” Soares said.

Elder Peter M. Johnson of the Seventy spoke about ministering to others as a way to become more like the Savior and share His love.

“At times we will have unanswered questions and feelings of being unimportant, discouraged, alone and unseen; however, my friends, we must press forward with faith in Jesus Christ and remember His words; ‘Let not your heart be troubled,’” Johnson said.

He shared a personal story of being ministered to by a friend, encouraging members to reach out to others and lift them in love.

Elder D. Todd Christofferson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles message invited all to “look unto Christ and live.”

“Alma explained that looking to God is to keep His commandments, cry unto Him continually for His support, counsel with Him in all your doings, and let your heart be full of thanks unto Him day and night,” Christofferson said.

He said keeping God’s commandments allows members to prosper and come closer to the Savior, despite difficulties in life.

“In looking to God, we can find peace in difficulty, and our faith can continue to grow even in times of doubt and spiritual challenge,” he said.

Sister Andrea Muñoz Spannaus, second counselor in the Young Women General Presidency, spoke about prophets — inviting youth to gain a testimony of living prophets.

“Dear young friends, I have an invitation for you: in the coming days, I invite you to kneel, open your hearts, and pray with faith to Heavenly Father, asking Him to confirm to you that His chosen Prophet and Apostles are His voice on the earth today,” Spannaus said.

She testified that the Lord is the one who chooses His servants, referring to the prophet and apostles who lead the Church on earth.

Elder Henry B. Eyring of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles spoke on proving ourselves to the Lord and finding strength in doing so.

“The Lord teaches that we are to continue to grow and never tire in our efforts, that we never give up, that we keep trying,” Eyring said.

He shared examples from Book of Mormon prophets Moroni and Jacob, whose experiences can inspire members to continue forward in faith despite struggles.
