President Dallin H Oaks encourages love over division

On Easter morning, President Dallin H. Oaks of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints encouraged its members to choose love over division.

President Oaks declared to "love even your enemies."

"Let us follow Him by forgoing contention and by using the language and methods of peacemakers," said President Oaks. "In our families and other personal relationships, let us avoid what is harsh and hateful."

Many at this Sunday morning session of General Conference took President Oaks' message to heart.

"I think at the end of the day, if we can just treat each other as children of God, I think we're going to be just fine," said Zachery Youngblood, attendee of the session.

Members of the Church community are already inspired to make changes.

"I think I just need to be more inclusive, be kind to people, even if I don't really know them that well, or even if they're not always nice to me," said Lincoln Spencer, a visitor for the session of General Conference from Yorkshire, England.

People choose to be loving and peaceful members of their communities.

President Oaks called members to rise above division and to choose to love their adversaries to bring peace in a contentious world.
