St. Patrick’s Day is a global celebration of Irish history held on March 17, and several spots in Provo offered festive treats to celebrate the holiday.
Crumbl Cookies, known for releasing a new menu of cookies each week, had two St. Patrick’s Day desserts on its menu.
The first is the Mallow Creme Cookie. Elizabeth Greenwood, an employee at the Provo Crumbl on Cougar Boulevard, described the treat.
“The base is marshmallow and cream cheese with marshmallow cream cheese frosting,” Greenwood said.
The cookie is then topped with Lucky Charms cereal marshmallows, adding a pop of St. Patrick’s-esque color.
Ava Hatfield, another Crumbl employee, said she prefers the second St. Patrick’s Day cookie on the menu: The St. Patrick’s Day Celebration Cake Cookie.
“It’s a cake batter base with cream cheese frosting and green sprinkles,” Hatfield said.
Both cookies will be available through this week.
Twisted Sugar, another cookie store in Provo, is also offering a holiday cookie. It’s called the Mint Madness Cookie, and Sam Fletcher, an employee at the Twisted Sugar at Parkway Village, said it’s one of their best flavors.
“It’s a chocolate cookie with an Andes mint baked into it,” Fletcher said. “I think it’s one of our best, and I’m sad it’s only here for one month.”
Another shop with a St. Patrick’s Day treat is FiiZ Drinks in Orem. The store is offering two St. Patrick’s-themed drinks for the month of March.
The first is the Pot of Gold Punch. The drink includes Mountain Dew, mango puree, edible glitter, whipped cream, green sprinkles and a gummy rainbow on top.
The second drink is The Leprechaun, featuring Mountain Dew with green apple flavoring.
Other St. Patrick’s Day treats around Provo include Dairy Queen’s Mint Oreo Blizzard, available through March, and McDonald’s Shamrock Shake, available for a limited time after the holiday.
