North Logan hosts an annual pumpkin walk every fall at Elkridge park.
Roughly 50,000 people gathered this year to attend the North Logan Annual Pumpkin walk which features a variety of cartoon and movie scene recreations all created with pumpkins, gourds and squash.
"It really started with a spirit of generosity and that's really continued today with all the people that help with it and make it so special," Sarah Lebaron said. Lebaron is the granddaughter of the original creators of the pumpkin walk.
It may be a community phenomenon today, but it didn't start out that way.
"The first year it was really simple," Lebaron said. "It was just a few pumpkins made into a figure."
Visitor's walked through her grandparent's family farm and apple orchard exploring the scenes, but it soon became too popular.
"Over time it outgrew their farm," Lebaron said. "The crowds were too big and it didn't fit on the farm anymore so North Logan City actually offered to take it on."
Today the pumpkin walk takes place in Elkridge Park every year and is able to accommodate the whole community.
"It's all about the community coming together and that feeling of collaboration, creating joy and a bright spot during the fall season," Lebaron said.
Community members get together to create scenes to add to the pumpkin walk but Sarah and her family are still involved even four generations later. This year they created scenes from the movie, "Sandlot."
Sarah says her grandmother who was a school teacher wanted to preserve the magic of childhood through this exhibit.
"I liked the How to Train your Dragon one, because it's one of my favorite movies and I think they a really good job with Toothless and Hiccup," Lydia, a visitor during the pumpkin walk said.
