BYU students suit up for kickball tournament

BYU students took a break from studying this week to dress up in Halloween costumes and participate in a kickball game.

A chicken, T-Rexes and the Mario Brothers were among many of the costumes at the Bumpin' Pumpkin Kickball Tournament.

Brooke Lovell is a freshman at BYU who came to the event.

I saw a poster in the cannon center and I said Sam, to my roommate, were gonna go do this. And she said, no, youre gonna go do this, Lovell said.

Lovell chose to dress up as a scarecrow for the event. She said the game was a great opportunity to make friends and have fun.

The game featured a variety of creative costumes.

At the end of the night the red team defeated the blue team, but members from both teams had great things to say about the game.

Ezra Bloomfield and Benjamin Ward also attended the event.

It was great, it was fun," Bloomfield said.

Spent more time on the floor than I thought, but it was fun," Ward said.

I got a bucket of candy, and something I'm gonna frame and put on my desk and send a picture home to my mom and be like mom look, I am good at sports. I won, Lovell said after the game, You guys should all come to Bumpin' Pumpkin Kickball Cup next year because this was fun."

One thing is for certain; this event was a smashing success.
